Tokyo Logo

This motion graphic was designed as a logo for the city of Tokyo. The red typography references the red circle of Japan’s flag, while the blue is inspired by Tokyo’s secondary uniforms from the 2020 Olympics.

Research into Tokyo’s cultural identity shaped the concept, drawing from two of the city’s most recognizable symbols: sushi and the Shinkansen bullet train. A salmon roll was selected for the sushi element, as it is one of their most popular rolls. The colors used for these symbols closely match their real life appearance to ensure immediate recognition.

NY Times Illustration(rodent on wheel standing still)

This illustration represents the frustration of trying to eat healthy in contemporary America. One day, certain foods are promoted as healthy choices, and the next, those same options are revealed to be harmful or misleading. This constant shift creates a sense of exhaustion and futility around making the “right” health decisions.

The rodent standing still on the wheel symbolizes burnout and the decision to stop chasing ever changing standards of wellness. The unhealthy food dangling above reflects both temptation and the overwhelming amount of conflicting information surrounding what we eat. Ultimately, the piece suggests a collective fatigue with pursuing perfect health and proposes that it may be just as meaningful to pause, step off the wheel, and enjoy a burger once in a while.

My name is Bobby Fenton. An individual who is driven by passion when tackling projects. This results in visually captivating designs that stand out. Senior pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at William Paterson University. Adequate experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Lightroom under my belt.
